New Pathways For Children, Inc (6/08) NPFC will host their Annual Golf Scramble on July 19, 2008. This year it will be held at Drake Creek Golf Course in Ledbetter. More to come. Maude Carpenter Children's Home (6/08) MCCH will hold it's Annual Fundraising Dinner at the Sedgwick County Extension Building located at 21st and Ridge in Wichita, Kansas. Shults-Lewis Child & Family Services, Inc. (6/08) The Fall golf Tournament is scheduled for September 12, 2008,and September 20th will be Shults-Lewis' Annual Day or Open House. Georgia Agape, Inc. (6/08) Georgia Agape will host a Foster Care Picnic on Saturday, June 7, 2008. The event is for foster parents, foster children, board members, staff and prospective foster parents. Their Annual Celebration Banquet will be held on Thursday evening ,October 2, 2008. Location: Westin Atlanta North at Peremeter. The banquet is to be an encouragement to all who care about and support Georgia Agape. More information: Bernard Bable 770-452-9995. 13 year old death (6/08) Sam Thomsen a 13 year-old member of the Southwest Church of Christ in Omaha, Nebraska was killed late Wednesday when a tornado struck a Boy Scout camp in Iowa. Sam was adopted as an infant through Nebraska Christian Services. His parents are Larry and Sharon Thomsen. Let us keep the Thomsen's and Nebraska Christian Services in our prayers. Agape Villages (6/08) Agape Villages is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year. 40 years as Sierra Children's Home and the last 10 years as Agape Villages. They have served more than 5,000 children over the past half century. There will be a celebration on October 4, 2008 in Stockton at the Central Church of Christ. "Fairways For Foster Kids" will be held September 12, 2008 at Manteca Golf Course. All proceeds benefit Agape Villages Foster Family Agency. Just to to www.techsoup.org to view their website. It costs nothing to join. Cherokee Home For Children(5/08) September 2008 marks 50 years since the home began. A formal rededication will be held on the second weekend of September 2008. Boles Children's Home (5/08) August 1, 2008 is the day for the Webb Hill Golf Tournament, beginning at 8:30 AM. (5/08) Congratulations to SECH as they celebrate 40 years as a children's home in 2008. Throughout the year they will be looking back on their history and celebrate, and also look forward with a greater vision for the future. Children's Home of Lubbock (5/08) Since its beginning in 1954, The Children’s Home of Lubbock has completed the adoptions of 750 children!

Also the 22nd Timothy Campaign is underway. This campaign collects money in cans to help provide for the medical expenses of children in their foster care adoption program. Albuquerque Christian Children's Home (5/08) ACCH will host their annual "Fund Raiser/BBQ/Open Home" on August 16th. More information to come. Agape Child and Family Services, Inc. (5/08) A recent article in Memphis' "Commercial Appeal" newspaper was "Awards Honor 10 for Selfless Service" One of those 10 was Randy Lillard who works with children in Foster Care as part of Agape Child and Family Services. Lillard and his wife have also fostered more than 20 children in their home. Mark your calendars - annual CCFSA conference set for October 2008 The 2008 CCFSA conference is October 12 through October 15 in Kansas City. Mark Barone with Christian Family Services of the Midwest, Inc. will be hosting the conference. The Plenary and first workshop speaker for Monday morning is Ashley Rhodes-Courter. She is a nationally known speaker and author that grew up in the foster care system Ashley's website is http://www.rhodes-courter.com/ Cherokee Home for Children (5/08) May 3rd was a day of celebration at Cherokee Home For Children. They had 800 in attendance at their Annual Cherokee Day Food Drive. Over $60,000.00 was raised. The Day included an open house, dedication of buildings and feeding the crowd with 600 lbs of brisket, 250 lbs. of chicken, 150 lbs. of ham and 150 lbs. of sausage links. The feast also included potato salad, coleslaw, beans and all the trimmings. Agape Villages (5/08) Richard Blythe who has been involved in one way or another with Sierra Children's Home/Agape Villages for the entire 50 years of the childcare organizations existence, has resigned as President of Agape Villages. Sunny Glen Children's Home (5/08) Recently the administration building used for community service at Sunny Glen Children's Home, was named the Williams Administration Building in honor of Jay and Dee Williams for their service to children. Agape of Central Alabama(3/08) July 21, 2008 will host a Golf Tournament to raise money at Wynlakes in Montgomery, Alabama. For more information contact Emily Thames at (334) 272-9466.
